Actually it was called Commencement Exercises which is much more appropriate as the young people who were presented with their diplomas are now just starting real life, especially those who are heading out into the work force. Each graduate beamed with justifiable pride and many seemed to breath a-sigh of relief in the belief that the worst was over. If only they realized that life itself is a hard school and that by the time we can earn our diplomas, life is over. But then again maybe its best that they surge ahead with their starry-eyed idealism. Perhaps it will armour them against the storms that are ahead and help them to improve this all too imperfect world of ours. Anyway, I would like to congratulate all the young people who have recently graduated and wish them the best in the years ahead.
