The Big Red, 18-10-2 overally and 14-6-1 in the ECAC, defeated Clarkson, 5-3, in the consolation game at the ECAC champion- ships after losing to the nations number one team, RPI, 5-1, in the semnifinals. It was the Big Red's 131h ap- pearance in the ECAC playoffs. Corneli has won 37 playoff games Ian ECAC record) and lost just 14 for a record winning percentage of .725. Freshrnan center Joe Nieuwendyk of Whitby, Ont. was named the rookie of the year in both the ECAC and the Ivy League. He was also second team AlI-Ivy.
