Placements in the three offices totalled 522 for the month, which compares to a total of 532 placements during June, 1985 and 312 placements during July, 1984. During July, the greatest employment opportunities existed in construction; retail trade; food and beverage; and personal. and household services. At the end of July, there were 156 students in the skill courses sponsored by the Canada Employment Centre and 55 people receiving academic upgrading at Durham College. According to Keith Wagar, the Whitby Jaycees are hoping to turn this into an annual event. This year, the good natured ribbing of the mayor 'will benefit the Durhamn Region chapter of the Multiple Scierosis Society of Canada. The only confirmed roaster at this time is Wren Blair, former general manager of the Whitby Dunlops and coach of the Boston Bruins.
