Canada Post Cor- poration reminded its customers iast week that part of getting ready for Cristmas is knowing the deadlines for mailing letters and packages to friends and relatives overseas, The international deadline for items that travel by surface mail will vary from province ta province. For exam- pie, the first deadline for surface mail is Oct. 1 for mail from Newfoun- dland to Asia, the Soutb Pacific and Africa. The corporation advises residents in each province ta check with their local post office for otber surface mail deadlines. Deadlines for items sent airmail ta their destination are the same across Canada. Packets and parcels being sent to Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Africa, Soutb America, the Caribbean and other countries in Europe and Asia not listed below is Nov. 27.
