You find e: yourself searching, 1. straining your eyes to s recognize a face in the s mass of swinging, poun- p ding arms and legs. But Il your attempts seem t laser show highlight of ACVI's first dance fruitless, for this is the first Anderson dance. Anderson held ifs first dance of the year on F'riday, Sept. 27. it was hosted by the "Great Rock and Roll Road Show Tour 85/86," and provided a fun-filled evening for everyone w~ho participated. Along ,vith the wild, rocking beat, the group exhibited a 'unique" laser show. Lasers were shof from the stage and sprung from the walls, projecting a eerie glow that only added to the tunes being played. The dance went extremely well, raising ap- proximately $2,OOO for Anderson. And dont forget, you need an ac- tivity card to gef into the dances. This year we have already sold ap- proximately 850 of tLhem, raising $6,000. This week the school is participating in its annual Penny Drive. Each homeroom class is urged to raise as much money as if can through various activities. Al proceeds will go to the United Way and to An- derson's fwo foster children. Also, the class that raises the most money will be awarded a pizza party. Everyone is asked to participate and help in a worthy cause. For those people wishing to remember their favorite years, this year's yearbook 85/86 will be going on gale around the end of Oc- tober or sooner. And theres no need to yearbooks are hopefully expected to be ready for that time, also. We're sorry about the- long wait, but the job had been abandoned. We would like to heartily thank Terry Cormier for completing it. Also on the agenda is -meat sales". Last year's sales raised $1,300. Unfortunately, the turnout wasn't large This year, the Stuidents' Council expect more people to get involved, with prizes being awar- ded to the top three sellers. Nov. 1 will be Ander- son's Hallowe'en Dance. This is the time for al you "wild and crazy" Andersonians to "really be yourselves" and dress up. Included will be a Laser Horror Show, macle especially for the upcoming occasion by the "Great Rock and Roll Road Show Tour 85/86". Let it snow."- As if is only the second week in October, many may be wondering why this crazy reporter wants if f0 snow! Weil, the reason is that a senior French trip has been announced and is f0 fake place af St. Donat, Quebec. This package includes, three nights accomodafion, beacoup d'outdoor activities and althe French you can speak. Only 15 students plus Madame Lee are going 50 if is advised that the students who wish f0 attend hand in fhe fîrsf down-payment as soon as possible. The French Club had ifs first meeting on Oct. 3. They plan f0 meet on- ce a monfh f0 enjoy French cuisine and/nr movies. AIl grades of French classes are welcome. The Student Council has sfarted planning for Hallowe'en festivities. The first acfivity will be a costume day on Ocf. 25. Prizes will be awar- ded for the sacriesf, zaniesf, wierdest costumes. In exhibition play last week, the senior boys volleyball team blew Ajax High School rîght out of the courts by win- ning 5 Out Of 5 games. The guys arent info season play yet so this practice, as "fhey" say, will help make them perfect. The girls field hockey team beat Dunbarton High School 4-0 during a home game last week. Their record now stands at fhree wins and two losses. The junior girls basketball team won over Henry Street High School on Oct. 7. The score was very close during the first two quarters but they managed to keep ahead with a good defense fa win 36-25. The midget lost -34-16 against the same school. Better luck nexf time, ladies. In boys soccer last week, the senior team tied Ajax with a82-2 final score. The goals were made by Bernie Morton and Bill Heaney. The junior team lost to Ajax High School. The only goal in the 5-1 game was made on a penalty shot by Paul Peschilido. Weil, that's aIl the news for this week.
