Ha also served as Whilby's Chief Constable ln the 1870s. Architectural The Jacob Bryan House is a good exampie of the "Regency Collage" style. The house is one slorey wilh the characlerisiic hip roof but contains no specificaily "Regency" details. The paired brackeis under the eaves, the buff brick quoins and voussoirs, the six over six sash and the door- way wth reciangular transom and side ights are ail fealures which were common at the lime but ail not "Regency Cottage" ln form.
