In order to qualify for the Eastern Canada ChampionShips to be held Jan. 9 to 12, local skaters must first coin- pete in the Eastern On- tario ChampioflShiPS in Ottawa Nov. 28 through Dec. 1. The top four coin- petitors in the Novice, Junior and Senior even- ta in Ottawa will qualify to compete in Whitby early in the new year and from there top skaters will go on to compete in the - Up Canadian Champion- ships in North Bay Feb. 2 to9. Canada's World Team will be chosen im- mediately af ter the Canadian Champion- ships and wiIl compete in Geneva in March. Whitby skaters who will be competing in Ot- tawa include Susan Amann, Scott O'Neill, Jody Lyn Jones, Michelle Yeo, Rhonda Stacey, Kim Lefebvre, Michele Locke, Stephanie Sears, Steve Sears, Heather Forshaw and Marion O'Neill. Swim, club strong in national meet Sixteen awimmera from the Whitby Iroquois Swim Club travelled to Brantford, for the Brantford In- vitational Swim meet held Nov. 22, 23 and 24. This was a high calibre meet which attracted top swimmera fromn across the country, and congratulations are in order for the W.I.S.C. swimmers, led by Mark Kelly who captured a bronze medal in both 50 free and 100 free, only to be followed by a bronze for the boy.. 11-12 relay team in the 200 niedley relay. In the 11-12 girls- Wendy Primeau placed th - 400 free, 800 free, 7th -50 fr., 8th - 100fr., 200free. In the 11-12 boys: Mark Kelly got a bronze - 50 free, 100 free, 6th - 100 breast and Jason Rushton placed 8th - 100 breast. Relay teani: Mark Kelly, Jason Rushton, Matt Cook, Scott Currie - bronze - 200 medley relay. In the 13-14 girls: Julie Leswick came 7th in the 50 free.
