A zoning by-law prohibits building per- mita to be issued until a road can be travelled by normal vehicles (cars). Property owners, however, told commit- tee members tliey bouglit the land after receiving a letter in 1967 from then township clerk Bull Wallace, promising the land would be included in tlie improvement allowan- ce. The road lias not been on the town's im- provement allowance program since 1960. Under an agreement with the Mlnistry of Transportation and Communications, sub- sidy for -future main- tenance and construc- tion of a road wiil only be given wlien tlie road is built to a minimum standard.
