PAGE 2, WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 1986, WHITBY FREE PRESS F air has something for -everyone The full list of events for the 7th Annual Brooklil Spring Fair bas now been drawn up, and with the range and diversity of activities and demonstrations planned for the four day event it looks as though this year's fair has something for just about everybody. On Thursday evening, June 5, the fair opens at Community Park with the Miss Brooklin Beauty Pageant and the officiai opening ceremonies and there will also be a pony show, gymkhana, the midway, a Bavarian tent, miniature borse exhibit and an 18 hole miniature golf course. On Friday, June 6, there will be a special animal dlsplay for children, along wlth the many arena exhibits in- cludlng flowers and handcrafts,' a poultry display, the 7th annual truck and tractor pull with the modifled at 7 p.m., the Bavarian tent, entertainment, the monster mini golf cour- se, a miniature horse exhibit and, of course, the midway. On Saturday and Sun- day the fair will reaily get rolling with a ful slate of activities and events. at 10:30 Satur- day the parade kicks off featurlng this year's theme, 'Memories"~ and then there's an en- tire day and evening of events planned in- cluding ail the arena exhibits, dairy show, the 4H display, the baby show, the junior far- mers dunklng tank, the mutt and pet shows, the children's animal display, horse draw, chuckwagon and chariot races, clowns, miniature bike manoeuvers, light and heavy horse judging, log sawing and nail driving, farm equipment (present and antique), the log sawlng mii and smail steam engine displays and, i the arena, music by the Pineridge Bluegrass Boys. On Sunday the same fever pitch of activity continues with the round hay bale rolling com- petition, the Brooklin Boy Scouts pancake breakfast, the ail breed horse show, the hay and grain exhibits and much more in the arena, beef cattle judging, the dairy goat show, the Ses Cadets Band and Driil, the sheep show and sheep shearing demon- stration, hlghland dan- cing, harness horse raclng wlth wagering beginning at 1:30 p.m., horseshoe pitching tournaments, and beglnnlng at 6 p.m. in tue arena, square dan- cing and the fiddle and step dance competitions with the Canadian Made. band.
