Michelle Dittrick placed fourth in the 200 mfetres, fifth in the 100 metres and fourth In the 400 metre hurdies. Shannon Crossfield finished first in the 100 metre hurdles, second in the 100 metres and third in the long jump. On the strength of their performances, the young wornen's teare finished first out of 23 teams while the overaîl team placed third out of 23 teamns. The next day (Sun- day, August 3) the boys took to the field. In ban- tam boys (10 and under) competition Eddie Maunder finished first in the 800*,. metres, second in the 400 metres and third in the long jump. Frankie Reid placed first in the long jump and lourth in the 100 metres while his teammate, David Shan, placed third in the 200 metres and fifth in the 100 metres. Chris Drynan set a meet record of 20181, in the shot put on his way to a first place finish. In midget boys action (il and 12) Jason Bac- chiochi placed fourth in the long jump, sixth in the 100 metres and sixth in the 200 metres. Gavin Whillams placed third in the discuss and fourth in the shot put while Danny King finlshed second in the 100 mnetres, fourth in the 200 metres and fifth in the long jump. Tommy Drynan finished third in the 1500 metres while Andrew McQueen placed fifth in shot put and sixth in the 400 metres. The teani of Eddie Maunder, Jason Bac- chiochi, Danny King and Andrew McQueen went on to finfish second in the Soomedley relay, In intermediate boys (15 and 16) Mark Bateman placed fifth in the 100 nietres, Vagner Casthilo placed fourth in the 100 metres and Mike Corby placed first in the 400 metre hurdies and fifth in the 400 metres. In the young men division KarI Dyer placed first in the shot put, second in the javelin and he had third place finishes in the triple jump and 110 metre hurdles. Steve Yorston placed first in the 400 nietre hurdies. In open men com- petition (over 18) Brett Herod was first in the 100 metres and 200 metres.
