Anderson seniors lost to Uxbridge 46-26 Anderson midgets and juniors win By TRAVIS LINDGREN The Anderson girls' basketball program is off to a good start. The midget baaketbal team had its season opener against Denis O'Connor, on Tuesday. September 23. Anderson started the game siowly with oniy a slight lead at haif-time. In the second hall they atormed to a big lead with offensive magic fromn Jonne Hood and Kelly Watson. Anderson's defense aiso heid the game with great defending from Michelle Reader and Robin Grant. The midget teamn went on to defeat DOC 31-20. The junior team star- ted their season with a great start too. They also played their season opener against DOC and defeated themn by a score of 37-30. "We have a really strong team with players with a lot of potential,"-said Mariet- te Rozon, coach of the juniors. The senior girl's team played a hard season opener against Ux- bridge but came up short with a loss of 46-26. The team fought hard with extra effort from Sue Pipher and Diane Swain. I think we wili do pi-et- ty good this season. We have a few really strong players," said Maureen Graves, coach of the seniors. Ail the teams wili be playing almost every Tuesday and Thursday.
