He was born in Toron. to on October 5, 1926, son of 'Edward (J.) and Minnie (LaBrash) Walsh. He was' a freeway traffic supervisor for the Ministry of Tran- sportation and Com- munications. .Mr. Walsh, a Whitby resident since 1935, was a member of the Whitby branch (112) of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his wife May (Derrushka) and sons John Foister of Port Ferry and Ron Holman of Oshawa. Aiso survived by gran- dchildren Annette, Scott, Cheryl, Apryl and Tracy. He was predeceased by a brother, John. The funeral was held November 26, 1986, fromn the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, with Father Joseph Murphy. Inter- ment in Groveside Cemetery. ETJE MARS Etje «(Ester) Mars of Farry Sound, formerly of Whitby, died at Parry Sound Generai Hospital on November 26, 1986. She was in her 78th year. She was born in Kan- tens, Netheriands, the daughter of Frirck and Diedje Cleveinga. She married John Mars in 1950. A homemaker, Mrs. Mars lived in Whitby for 16 years. She was a member of the Hebron Christian Ref ormed Church, Whitby. She is survîved by sons Jake and Elsie She is survived by sons Jake (and Elsie) Mars of Oshawa, Fred (and Ann) Mars of Oshawa, Grace (Mrs. Mayes) of Parry Sound and Wiiiie <Mrs.'John Wever) of Belleville. Also 'survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Fredeceased by a sister, Anna. (Mrs. Hoven) of Whitby. The funierai was held November 28 frona Hebron church, with Rev. R.G. Fisher. In- terment in Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa. HILDRED WILES Hildred Madeline Wiies of Fairview Lodge, Whitby, died in Ajax on November 23, 1986. She was in.her 9lst year. She was born in Vic- toria Harbor on Sep- tember 10, 1986, the daughter of Isaac and Anne (Saiiows) White. She married George Washington Wiles in 1920 in Orillia. She was prtnieceased by her husband. A housewife, she was a memnber of the United Church and the Orange Lodge. She is survived by daughters Shirley (Mrs. B. Acker) of Oshawa, Mary Lou (Mrs. G. Butler) of Oshawa, Mivis (Mrs. Yarmie) of Ajax, Lois (Mis. E. Heron) of GreenwoQd, Joan (Mrs. Smailey) of- London, Ada (Mis. For- sythe) of Lindsay and sons Douglas of Whitby, Walace of Ajax, Jack of, Cannington and Walter of Beaverton. Also survived by 38 grandchiidren and 41 great-grandchiidren. The truck knocked down a corner of the carport as It drove away and dropped a mattress when it reached the street. Upon entering his house the man dîscovered a number of other articles missing. They inciude a couple of diamond rings, two black and white television sets, a double brass bed and other ar- ticles. The truck is described as a one-ton truck with dual rear wheels and in poor condition. One, of the two maies driving the truck is described as 5 ft. 8 in to 5 ft. 9 in. taîl, 160 to 170 lbs, black hair, moustache, 30-35 years old.
