On Friday, Dec. 5 they defeated Woodville 3-2 in overtime. Whitby scored first 55 seconds into the game when Copry Brick fired in a pass from Brian Lodge, and Steve Biais. Then Lodge scored on a pass froin Brick and Biais to put Whitby ahead 2 to 0. Woodville came back and scored two goals before the second period was a minute old. The score remained that way until BIais scored on a breakaway with 2:43 left in the -second overtime period to take> the gaine. Matthew Norton played a good gaine in net for Whitby. Orillia scored their 1only goal early in the isecond period to ruin David Ayres' shutout, but Brian'Scott scored on a pass from Lodge and Biais before- the period was over. After only an hour's rest Whitby went back on t.he ice to face a fresh Markham teain in the semni finals. Lodge opened the scorîng at 1: 04 of the second period on a passfrorn Biais. Markham then scored twice to take the lead, In the third, period Lodge tied the gamne to force overtirne, but Whitby took a penalty which allowed Markham to score the winning goal.
