Er- ma Woods of Whitby took the service assisted by members of Myrtle UCW. She gave an in- spiring address under the title "In The 'In as muoh' Serving?" We also were glad to have Cecile Piltz who sang a solo following the theme of the service. The annual congregational meeting of Myr- tle church was held Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at the church. Tuesday the UCW met at the home of Mrs. Jim Housego's for a planning and budget session. A new item is a calendar of area events to which everyone is invited to register public gatherings and major events with the idea that we may eliminate doubling up of dates. The Myrtle church is holding a euchre party March11at 8 p.m. in the church hall. Donna and David Kirck are the proud parents of another little girl. Emma Jane arrived. Jan. 5 and weighed 7 lbs. 5' oz. Welcome wee girl to our community. Rev. and Mrs. McCrury spent the last week in Florida. We all hope they had as good weather as we had here in Myrtle and that they returned refreshed and ready for chur- ch. We are sorry to hear that Mrs. Cotton had an accident and broké her foot. We all hope for a speedy recovery. Hiscox accepted the award in front of many previous award-winners in the audience. JoAnn Drumm- Alexander' daughter of Whitby councillor Joe Drumm, provided comedy and song, while popular tunes were rendered by Vic Agnew, Andrea Smith, Lorie Easton Flynn and Sherry Black. Included in the show were bagpiper Murdoch Ferguson, trumpeter Alan Mote, Andrea Smith on saxophone, Mike Cutting on drums and the Rotary Club Choir under director Margaret Webber. Students have been screened by Durham Regional Police and given the okay to drop and pick upa questionnaire pertaining to such questions as - -Do you feel more secure? -Could the program (Neighborhood Watch) be improved? - Are you more aware of your neighbor's habits? etc. The students will be comparing Neigh- borhood Watch areas with non-Neighborhood Watch areas to determine the effectiveness of the program. If a questionnaire is left in your mail box, please fill it out and leae it for the students to collect. Their completed data can only help you and Neighborhood Watch.
