After eight years at their Whitby Mail location, Tass Jeweliers bas relocated to the Lanes. "The mail was a good place to start out, but we have outgrown it," says owner Ted Tass. Andrew received bis training from George Brown College in Toronto in jeweiry design and gold smitbing. After coliege he worked for C.V. Secrett Jewel Salon in sales and designing, and for Henry Bitks in Toronto.. "We, are very pieased with Our new location, we're right in the beart of town. Many of our customers have foilowed us and we have many new ones. We think it has a grçat future, " says Ted Tass. The store does appraisais on al diamond and gold jewelry, and repairs watcbes and jeweiry in the store. Their grand opening wili coincide witb that of ail of Whitby Lanes in September. "People want solarium additions to make their homes bigger, as ex- tra living space and for bot tubs," says Lynn Marek. Rima Sunsystems originated in Calgary, and bas been oeprating in Toronto for 2'/2 years. The Mareks were first introduced to Rima Sunsystems in March at tbe Toronto Home Show, wbere tbey were quite taken witb a model sunroomn on display. The Mareks bad a booth promoting micro furnaces, which are compact space heaters, across from the Rima Sunsystems booth. "Rima Sunsystems are higb class, ali-temperature solariums and range from $20,000 to $30,000," says Marek.
