Free Press photo Henry second in LOSSA tennis Chanda Carr, Paul Geissler and Andrea Wood of Henry Street High School won Lake Ontario Secon- dary School Atheltic Association (LOSSA) tennis titles last week in Whitby. The three took part in Durham- York Secondary School Atheltic Association (DYSSA) competition on Tuesday in Downsview. Results were not known at press time. In LOSSA, held at Iroquois, Peel and D'Hillier courts, Carr won the ladies' single event while Geissler and Wood teamed to capture the mixed doubles championship. Belinda Bain and Angela Yang of Henry were second in ladies' doubles to a Dunbarton High School team. Bain and Yang also qualified for DYSSAA. Dunbarton had 25 points to win the team championship over 15 other high schools in Durham. Henry was second with 21 points, Donevan third with 16 points. This is the first year that a team cham- pionship trophyhas been awarded. D. Carter of Ajax High School won the mens singles while a Donevan duo won men's doubles. The Whitby team, this year coached by Mike Primeau, got three goals from Adam Parks and twô by Andre Marois in an 8-7 loss JOANNE HOOD and Selena Tsai of the Anderson junior basketball team on defence against a McLaughlin team member in a gaime last week. Primeau and Marois each scored twice with singles to Paul Dillon, Troy Wastle and Brown. Most of last year's Ontario championship team are back in the Whitby atom lineup this season, but Primeau said it's too early in the season to determine how the team will fare. Anderson teams win two games Both Anderson CVI's junior and midget girls' basketball teams were victorious last Wednesday against McLaughlin CVI. The junior girls' team advanced to three wins after defeating McLaughlin 50 to 39. "It was a good teamwork victory. The first time the team has displayed itself so well," says Mariette Rozon, the team's coach. "We are still looking to play bet- ter games," says Rozon, who is counting on the experience of veterans Paula Barrack, Julie Kernohn and Selena Tsai to carry the team to further victories. The midget girls' team battled out a fierce offensive game which ended with Anderson winning 55 to 51. "Jacquie Frank played awesome on offence!" says midget coach Jennifer Wilson. Lisa Babington and Andrea Heib both played an excellent game at the guard position. Both Anderson tears will be playing today (Wednesday) against Uxbridge in Uxbridge. Fun car rally The Ajax Cricket Club will hold its annual Fun Car Rally Oct. 18, open to anyone with a drivér's licence. Entry fee is $10. Registration is at the club, corner of Clements and Monarch in Ajax Oct. 18, 10to 11:30 a.m. Dart league opens Brooklin Cycle leads the Wed- nesday Night Dart League by one point over the Weed Man. After 10 games Brooklin Cycle has a record of seven wins and three losses for seven points. The Weed Man are second with a 6-4 record for six points. Dodd and Souter Broadloom is in third with four points while T.P. Sportswear is last with three points. To start off the 1987-88 season. Brooklin Cycle defeated T.P.
