The annual show, which alter- nates yearly between eastern and western Canada, was held in this area this year to help celebrate the loth anniversary of the Durham Avicutural Society of Ontario. Formed in 1977 with 13 charter members, the society now bousts 130 members who are interested in promoting and protecting the quality and standards of their chosen speciesof birds. There were more than 900 cages, many containing a number of birds at last weekend's show. E at Grandview St. in Oshawa on Sunday, Sept. 27. At about 7:30 p.m. a 23-year-old Hampton man w as crossing Taunton Rd. when he was struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound. He was tossed into the car by the impact and sustained a compound fracture to bis lower left leg. He was found by some friends and taken to the Oshawa General Hospital. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information whic h leads to the arrest of the person responsible. Anyone, who might know anything about this accident is asked to cali.
