Though our girls lost to a strong Markham team, their spirits are soaring. Their season turned out to be more successful than they ever expected it to be and their strong performances in the finals proved it. Our junior boys' basketball team participated in their first tour- nament on Saturday, Nov. 30. Our boys played strong games, but the opposition proved to be too tought for our boys. Though the Chargers did not advance into the playoffs, they did go through to the consolation round. This being their first opportunity to play as a team, our boys fared well, coming up with fourth place in a 16-team tournament. Congratulations to the boys and coach Coghlan and especially Kirk Thomas who was voted Denis O'Connor's most valuable player! SALE The Arthritis Society will be holding a bake and craft sale at the Oshawa Bazaar and Flea Market (Wilson Rd. S.) on Sunday, Dec. 13. All proceeds to go towards arthritis research. HANG UP "Eyes of God," colored yarn designs woven by natives of Mexico and Bolivia, will be made and joined to form wall hangings in a program at the library Wednesday. Henry St. High news FROM PAGE 26 now eight points in front of second-place Pickering. Also Wednesday Henry hosted a T.M.R. dance in the cafeteria. T.M.R. classes from all over Durham came and by all accounts had a really nice time! Thanks to everyone who helped out and organized this very special event. Special thanks to Dr. Dicks who has done so much. Last but not least our junior boys basketball team defeated central on Thursday 71-26. Sounds like you are going to have a great season guys. Keep it up! Spirit week rolled in this week. It started off with the Henry food drive, purple and gold day and a grape peeling and lemon eating contest at lunch. So get in and show your Henry spirit. Our music department is putting on the sounds of Chirstmas this week. Have a good week, it sounds like fun. Don't forget the Hawaiian Christmas dance this Friday at 8 p.m. Please remember to bring in all non-perishable foods to support our food drive and give someone a Christmas.
