Whitby held on to first place in league play with an 8-0 decision over Kingston's AAA team. Adam. Parks, Paul Dillon and Wayne Pruneau each had two goals while Jeff Montaigue and Andre Marois had one each. each. The win came after Whitby drop- ped exhibition games to Oshawa 3-1 last.Thursday and North York 4-2 last Saturday. "We were flat," said coach Mike Primeau of the loss to Oshawa, an AAA team. Marois had the Whitby goal. Paul Brooks and Primeau had the goals against North York, third- place team in the Metro AAA league. Jordan scores two John Jordan scored twice and Tony Micallef got the shutout as Royale Hotel defeated Real Saints 3-0 to remain in first place in the Pickering men's rep hockey. Blair Gibson scored the other goal for Royale in the game played last Thursday. Peewees are on a rol So far this season the Whitby peewee B rep hockey team has sur- passed all expectations with their play 1both in league and tour- naments. The Whitby squad has played a total of 37 games winning 32 and losing seven. Five of these losses were to A rated teams. In league play, the teamn has sole possession of first place, gaining 28 points from 14 wins, and two losses. Competing in three hockey tour- naments over the past weeks, the peewee boys emerged as cham- pions at Fort Erie and Oak Ridges while losing in double overtime in the finals at Little Britain. At a Fort Erie tournament, they scored a total of 41 goals while con- ceding only four goals in five games. In the final game, the squad handled a tough Port Dover team with a 4-1 victory to gain the cham- pionship.
