CENTRE STET LOOKCING SOUTH FROM DUNDAS STREET, 1907 The big church with the two steeples in this picture is the Whitby Methodist Tabernacle (now St. Mark's United Church), built in 1875. The steeples were blown down in a severe storm on April 1, 1929 and were neyer replaced. The lot surrounded by the fence at -right is now the site of Whitby Dodge, and the buildings behind the trees at right are. the Whitby Baptist Church and the residence of W. J. Luke, both demolished in the 1970s. This "winter scene" occurred on May 4, 1907 following a late snowfall.
