Free Press photos LETTER: To the editor: On Monday af ter the council meeting, I had« an expérience that seemed to prove the'statements in my letter last Week. When I was putting on my coat an 'd looking down on the floor to makeé sureI had-everything. I heard ."John" spoken rather har- shly to me. I looked Up and saw Mr. Brunelle,' my councillor, standing at the other side of the tablé glar.ing at*me. He said: ."YTou should have neyer have printed that letter you did last week without first contac-, ting me, because it will give people the wrong impression of the councîl Resident 'soffer stili stands and what we are doing'for the people." I told him I stated only the facts I had been given and my solution to the problem. Hesaîd: "But Mary St. is now a primary route and Hickory-is a priority secondary route." He then got councillor Ed- wards to backup his statement, which he did. So basically what I can under- stand frpm this is that Hickory St. (from Mary to Regency) is, stili a secondary route that will be done when the primary routes are com- pleted, when it- could be done while Mary St. is being plowed. His argument against this was that it"is easier to do straight routes instead of once breaking off Mary, St. for five minutes and doing a block for the safety of elderly and handicapped people who live in the Regency Place apartments. My offer stili stands to reimburse the Town the cost of 90 cents each time they do the route as a primary one. And thank you, Mr. Brunelle, for letting me know the two dif- ferent meanings to the one answer you gave me before.
