One is the Sir Isaac Newton Awards for physics in which. Quest's senior science students are going to have a chance to participate in May.-The awards go to theOntario students withthe-'three highest scores on a short, multiple-choice exam. The other istbe stock martket contest, involving several schoôls. Quest, unfortunïately, was not able to participate. However, Quest is in the midat of organizing its own intra- school accounting or investm ent compétitionl. There were not as many spectators gt this event for fear of fiying snowbails that were not headedfor the targett The juniors from Hare House and the seniors from Carter had the best shot n hsvent. On Trafalgar's own hili was the downhiil ski run. A student wearing, skis and boots stood at the top while another pushed her down as far as she, could. OnIy one push was ailowèd and it seems that itYwas ail that Hare« house needed as both the seniors and junioriswon. Floor hockey was very compétitive and Maxwell house juniors won in overtime. For the seniors Hare won a close game against Maxwell. Finaily the juniors in Farewel put on their cross country skis and crossed.the finish fime first. In thesnowshoe relay the juniors,. won for Hare and the seniors won for Carter.. After lunch we went to Iroquois Park to the mndoor skating rink where. the speed skating event was held. For the juniors Hare won and Carter .won for the seniors. Af ter our afternoon of skating we returned to the school for a talent show. Carter won the show with their fantastic singixig but the judges admihtted that it Was à very hard décision. On the grounds are the snow sculptures and Farewell won the conm- pétition with ahuge sculpture of the school mascot,-a penguin,. Hopefully we have started a new tradition at Trafalgar and the Olympics will now be celebrated here for years to come.
