Brad Stella and John McIvor accounted for -the Whitby scoring in the final which ended after eight minutes of overtime. Whitby reached the final withý a 5-0 win over Georgetown and a 3-2 decision over Chathamn., Pe-ter Allison had two goals against Gjeorgetown while Todd Oyr; Kelly Vipond and Clayton Stillar liad singles. Zack Hayden, recorded the shuteut. Stella, Allison and Conal Tackney scored against Chatham. Redmen get grant to defray costs* The Mann -Cup lacrosse champion Broolin Redinen will receive a $1,500 grant from the Town of Whitby to help offset transportation costs the club incurred while competing in, the Manin Cup national championship in, British Columbia last September,; The Redmen won the cup when they defeated the New Westminster Salmoribellies in a Moore, Palmateer win pairs. P eggy Moore' and Judy Palmateer of the Whitby ,Y Badminton Club defeated another Whitby club pair to win the ladies, C final in the Oshawa-Durham tournament Feb. 20-21. Runner-up iný the mixed doubles B round was the Whitby team of Francis and Helen Kwan. Winners in the ladies doubles B round were Lissett Payne and Helen Kwan who- defeated Joý McDonald and'Sylvia Laycoe of the Durham club. best-of-seven final, four gaines to three. .It cost the club $6,867 to'make the trip out west and under the LTown's policy, the Redxnen are -eligible for a. grant of $1,500 towards their transportation costs.
