The Province bas informed the Town that renumeration 'will be handled. by a mail-out question- naire. If an answer is not received from the questionnaire then a canvass will be held, replacingý the door-to-door method usually done in the fali of a municipal. election. The questionnaire will be mailed out in the spring. But councillor Marcel Brunelle asked bow the Province would reach people livi ng in illegal basement apartmnents. "How are those people going ta, be contacted?" asked Brunelle. When Town- clerk Don McKay was unable ta, answer the question, Brunelle asked that the committee refer-the matter until McKay could get the answers. The Province informed the Town that the questionnaire will have a number of advantages over going door ta door. Those include a more accurate voter list and addressing the concemns of the francophone community by correctly identifying voters on the basis of language rights.
