Whitby council gave approval on Monday to the vestibule, on condition that Whitby Arts Inc. meet the LACAC requirement that the eisting front doors remain. "The architect has captured it," said councillor Ross Batten of the proposed design of the vestibule. The official opening ceremony will be held on Friday, April 22 from 7-9p.m. facilities. Capital funding in 1987 for the gallery included funds for those facilities, said Whitby Arts property chairman Bruce Hunt in a letter to LACAC in February. Council approval is required under the Ontario Heritage Act for any significant alterations to a designated property, such as the gallery. Council must consuit with LACAC before any decision is made. LACAC supports the addition of a vestibule if the doors are "saved, plaqued and permanently attached to the interior of the vestibule." instead of Graham Gauthier. Other cast inembers are Frances Helyer as Ama, Jim Renshaw as Victor Keene, Barb Fallow as Mrs. Holley, Rose Masters as Ella, Bey Mcflwain as Lolly Tucker, Harry Anderton as Felix and Garvin Farr as Fred Castle. The play is about a rich. middle-aged widow who suggests a marriage of convenience to a mild-mannered, down-on-his-luck man. Michael Roantree directs.
