Mountain bike races. at Pleasure Valley Park on Sunday On Sunday May 1, Pleasure Valley' Park just north of laremnont will host the first Annual Crank IN Edge Mountain Bike Classie. (Crank 'N Edge is a new specialty bicycle and ski store located in Markham). Terry Porter, race co-ordinator for the Ontario Mountain Bike Committee and organizer of the Pleasure Valley Race, says the sport of off-road racing on 18-speed fat-tired bicycles continues to grow. There are 15 races, three tours and a mounitain bike orienteering day already scheduled for this season. The race at Pleasure Valley will provide soniething for everyone. Registration and bike check will start at 10 a.m. Men's and women's novice and masters (over 35 years) will start at approximately 10:30 a.m. This race is for the recreational cyclist, and is racing of a more relaxed nature. amn races will start at noon and 1:30 respectively. Pleasure Valley is locàted on !Brock Road, 12 miles north of the 401 at Pickering.
