According to volunteer Helen Mulligan,- "the addition made Sunycrstmore like home than an institution,, it's brighter and Resident Mary Napier said, "I wouidn't trade it (the residence) for the world. This is home to me. - bOne of the things. the addition has provided is more activity A space for recreational prOgrams. In one bright, sunny room overlooking the pato, an activity room hosts crafts and courses of varlous descriptions. Sunnycrest bas crafts of many descriptions to offer its residents i ncluding flower arranging, oul paintings, rug hooking, macrame, beadworking, leather work and leather craft and. more. The picnic, which will include' fun and gaines for everyone, will be held at Enniskilen Conservation area from il a.m. to 4p.m. Many activities at nursing home can take courses in subjects such as microwave cooking, macramne, environmiental design and French. The coilege bas been in operation for two and a half years.. According to Mulligan, the volunteers in the activity department will go out of their way to, find supplies, etc. for an activity a resident may want to do. The residence's staff are assisted by about 20 active volunteers, with about 30 in total on the volunteer roster, Milligan said., "We go to a lot of workshops, and our calendar is always filled with day and evening prograxns."
