Polonsky, 46, will begin bis new position on Sept. 26. He replaces Mel Garland who is retiring after eight years as president. .Polonsky bas received a con- tract from the college's board of directors which is not to exceed five years and not less than three years witb options to renew. Fair described Polonsky as a man with a sense of vision, experience and personality.- "He fitted the profile the board was looking for," said Fair." Outgoing president' Mel Garland said he would not feel comfortable giving hints to his successor. "l didn't get any hints wýhen 1 started the job. The role of a president is having his own methods and way of operating. The college benefits from having a new chief executive officer who will take the college on to new plateaus and will con- tinue to make the college change," said Garland.
