Elliott of Whitby, a former vice principal of Henry Street liigh, School, died, at Oshawa Ceneral Hospital on Septmber 3, 1988. He was 60. H e was born in Oshawa on June 3, 1928, son of Charles R. and Rose E. (Shilton ) Elliott. Hie married Isabelle Town on November 6, 1953. -Mr. Elliott attended Centre St. public school in Osbawa and O'Neill CVI before attending the University of Toronto where he graduated in 1950 with a bachelor degree in physical' and helheducation. He attended the Ontario College of Education in 1950-51 and then began teaching physical and health education at Weston Collegiate. Ini 1952-53 he returned to O'Neill where be taugbt and also coached football, basketball, gymnastics, track and field and _rugger. Prom 1958 to 1970 he was head of boys physical education at Donevan Collegiate. He was vice principal at Hernry Street Hiigh Scbool from 1970 to 1976. Prom 1976 to 1985 lie was vice principal at O'Neill. He retired in 1985. Lauren Epema, father Charles- Elliott of Oshawa and brothers Raymond of Oshawa and Keitb of Toronto.. He was predeceased by bis inother on January 14, 1986. The funeral was held from Al Saints Anglican Churcli on September 7, 1988, conducted by Rev. Rod Barlow with assistance by Rev. June Abel and Rev. Merv Everall. Interment at Thornton cemetery. Memorial donations can be miade to the John C. Elliott Mern- orial Scbolarship, in care of the W.C.,Town Funeral Chapel. WILLIS WRIT Willis James White of Whitby died at Osbawa General Hospital on September 19, 1988. lie was 43. He was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, on May 14, 1945, son of Oscar and Winnifred (Cole) White. lie married Barbara on August 12, 1968. A Wbitby resident for 17 years, Mr. White was a captain in tbe Toronto Pire Department. lie was a member of the Salvation Army. lie is .survived by bis wife, daugbter Beverly, son Mark and grandson Mitchell; sisters Francis (Mrs. M. Puddicombe), Sophie (Mrs. C. Reid), Ruth (Mrs. E. Parent); brothers Clyde, Donald, Maxwell and Clarence. lie was predeceased by Oscar White and sister Dorotby. The funeral was held from the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel in Whitby, officiated by Capt. Butt of the Salvation Army. Paîl- bearers were members of the Toronto Pire Department and tbe 150-member lionor Guard.
