A report from the works department shows there are 79 properties in town that are receiving a five-per-cent reduction in their taxes. "The loss in tax revenue because of this reduction 'in assessment translates to approx- imately $9,400 for 1988," said the, department. Bugelli said that figure is going to escalate as growth continues. It is about tinie we said no, we will not go any further," said Bugelli. The agreement did include maintenance of the grounds, location of the boxes and it saved the municipality from being held responsible if an accident occurs involving the supermailboxes. Bugelli also questioned this aspect , saying that the municipality can be sued, along with Canada Post, if an accident Videotape player, jewelry stolen Police are investigating two separate break-ins that occurred in Whitby last week.
