More than 450 children and their parents enjoyed an after- noon of free skating on Nov. 13 at Iroquois Park in an event sponsored by the Optimist Club of Whitby as part of Optimists' Youth Appreciation Week. About 100 prizes were awarded, including hockey helmets, hockey and ringette sticks, bats, Wheelies' roler- skating tickets and skate sharpening certificates. Ail skaters received a bag of chips.
