Vikings will play teamns from Tampa Orlando and St. Peters- burg àiuring the March 11-19 tour. Vikjgs wiIl have three senior teams in 1989, tiree junior teams and the over -35 teamn. The over-35 team wiil take part in the worid XL tournamnent to be heid in Canada in Septem- ber, featuring 35 teamis from al Anyone wanting to play rugby can contact Jeff Moskaiuk at 666-4556 or Mike Stone at 1- 263-8192. Certified coaches and parent volunteers are also wan- ted for the junior programi. Paul Connelly received the Tom Olinyk award as most valu- able player for the senior Vikings in 1988. Dave Gifford won the Chris Krause award as most valuabie club member. Peter Ciayton received the Graham Hewitt award as most promising new player. Most valuable junior players were Cam Brown and Gareth Pettigrew. The cap tains' award went to Greg O'Connors (first 15) and Brian Brittain ( second 15). Art Cullen received the Runes award. Mike Stone is president of the club, with Stu Craig vice pre- sident. Lakefield rink takes bonspiel A Lakefield rink won the Per- kins Paints trophy as champion in the ladies two-lay invitational bonspiel at the Whitby Curling Club Jan. 11-12. Members of the winning rink were skip Linda Parcels, vice Sharon Y aie, second Bey Kuyle and lead Phyllis Hamilton. Runner-up was the Oshawa rink of skip Rita Wrubel vice Donna' Mayer, second Linda Stewart an lead Darlene Jen- kins. Consolation winner of the National Trust prize was the York club rink ofskip Beth Vernon, vice JoanneBoam second Arlene Wilson and lead Marg Cole.
