He was, born at Ruthergien, Scotlarid, on January 25, 1909, son of Robert and Christina Anderson. He married Ellen on September 10, 1938. She pre- deceased him in 1977. An auto mechanic, Mr. Ander- son was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, Oshawa. He is survived hy daughters Eleanor Burrows of Oshawa and Gail Dew of Millbrook, sons James of Ottawa, William of Oshawa, Robert of Kingston and Allin of Toronto. The funeral was held fromn the Town Funeral Chapel, Whitby, on Friday, January 27, 1989, Rev. A. Woolcock conducting.
