PAGE 14, WHITBY PME PRESS, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 1989 Adam Foote ranked 24th FROM PAGE 13 early second round'selection in the June draft. While unaware of which teanis have shown an interest, he does have a preference towards the Calgary F lames. . They are a goiod Canadian hock'ey teani anâdthey already have a couple of Whitby guys (Joe Nieuwendyk and Gary Roberts),'" said Foote who plýayed with the Brooklin-Wfiitby miidget age teani last year. Other teanis in which he is interested include the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devi Is. "It is faster and tougher up here (in the -OHL) but I'mhavin g a pretty good rookie year," said Foote. The only obstacle affecting Foote's chances in the draft is the play of his teani. M'ùny scouts will not get the opportunity to see him play because. the team may miss the OHL playoffs. But .Foote is hop- ing scouts have seen hini enough during the regular season to make a decision. He will have four years left in the OHL after this season but sees himself moving to an NHL team within two or three years. "I wouldn't mmnd playinqgin theé NHL or in the American League within three years, but .1I will have to see what happens." Foote expects a better season from the Greyhounds next year, noting that many of the players are in their rookie years. Saved!
