This election takes place ever~ year on the same date. Bahai elections are unique in that there are no nominations or electioneering. Every memiber of the Baha'l community who is over 21 years cf age is éligible for élection. The voting is preoeded voters write nine naines on a blank ballot. Election is by plurality vote; thase who get the most votes (not necessarily a majorit) become members of the local spiritual assembly. Baha'ls vote for those whom they consider te have the necessary qualities for membership on the assemblY. Somne parents use junior (or senior) kindergarten in canjunction with the daycare system, as the fée for junior and senior kindergarten is covered by schoël taxes. Daycare and nursery sehool are generallY paid out of packet (unless the parent is eligible for subsidy due to extenuating circumstances or needs). Private homne daycare has a community daycare. A home daycare should have no mare than five children in attendance. The number may vary slightly, depending upon the ages of the children. There is usually one caregiver. If the private home daycare is licensed by the Ministry of Social Services, it bas regular impromptu inspections (as do the icensed community daycares, nursery schools, etc.) Ià censed private home daycares maintain many of the sanie activities and routines as a community daycare. Sanie parents send-their children for a prtion of the day, ta a junior kinergartn or nursery school, Parents who are informned and understand the options. available for their pre-schoolers are able to make the appropriate choice for their pre-schooler. Teachers of this age group (infant ta 5-year-olds) are warking in a collaharative manner ta give each child tht best prograrn possible.
