Women in ]Business directory The Durham Business & Professional Women's Club bas published a new directory, "Durham Women in Business." The publication is a compilation of approximately 180 naines of female entrepreneurs and their business enterprises throughout Durhami Region. Five feature profiles of successful women highlight the directory and attestý to the virtues of determination and persistence as keys to success. The publication's advertise- ments display a wide. range of businesses and services offered by women in the region. The directory, with a price tag of $5 Per volume. is available to individuals and corporations at the club's regular monthly dinner meetings. The centre will deliver a broad range of technological training te area industries. Fred King, bas been appointed as directer of the centre. Activities such as prime/computervision, CAD/CAM (computer assisted design and manufacturing) and MituteYO CMM (co-ordinate measuring machine) training will be housed in the institute. Eakins to -speak at Chamber me etin g Minister of Municipal A ffairs John Eakins will be guest speaker at the Tuesday, May 23 dinner meeting of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce. Addressing the topic 'Future Cit,' Eakins will discuss provin- cial go vernment assistance to municipal development in such areas as transportation and ser- vices. Eakins, Victoria-Haliburton MPP, is a former Minister of Tourism and Recreation. He is p ast president of the Towns and Villages Municipal Association of Ontario.
