On an otion from regional counciilor Tm Edwards, the committee has agreed to set up the service, provided Handi Transit can organize the system for the visuallu impaired. The system would- allow- visually impaired individuals in Whitby to pay $1 towards the cost of a taxi ride. The Town would pick up the rest of the tab. The Town will ask Handi- Transit to implement the systen which means selling the necess. ary tickets to the visually im-* p aired and making sure the books are audited properly. The systemn is expected to cost the Town $31 200 per year.
