The Mémorial Charity Day is now in its fourth year, and on Saturday, Sept. 2 will again hold its popular golf tournament, dinner/dance and raffle. The golf tournament will take place at the Airport Golf Club, Oshawa,. and donated prizes and trophies will be awarded in Ivariaus categoriet, including low Igross, a group challenge trophy, a Jseniors' competition, and much Imore. Following the tournainent, a barbecue steak <inner and dlance will round off the day at the Oshawa Kinsmen Hall. Hghlight of the evening will be a raffle draw for a vacation for two at the Harbour Cove Resort, Nassau (courtesy of Thomson Vacations). Last year's Memorial Charity Day raised more than $7,000 for the palliative care unit at the Oshawa General Hospital. This year, organizers hope to raise $10,000 for the Lung Association of Durham Region. Ail proceeds will be used locally by the association to help finance programs for children suffering from asthma, and other respiratory ilinesses.
