Son of the late Sylvanus Roblin and Alice McKýeown, he was borri in Hastings C.,ounty on Oct. 20, 1900. He attended sehool in Hastings Courfty and the Ontario Agricultural Coilege at Guelph, and started operating a creamery at Belleville at the age of 18. In 1925 he purchased the Brooklin Creamery and operated it until it was 1destroyéd by fire in 1929. In 1930 he moved to Whitby and erected a' modern creamerY on Ash St., supplying a wide area with butter and dairy products. After the Second World War he was proprietcýr of the Whitby Dairy and Lunch Bar at Dundas and Byron streets until 1949. on Dec. 28, 1949, Mr. Roblin was appointed Ontario County Registrar of Deeds, to succeed the late Alex W. Bell, and was sworn into office.on Jan. 3, 1950. Mr. Roblin presided over one of the most extensive perioda of growth in the history of the CountY of Ontario, when the COME IN AND SEE OUR BEAUTIFUL, HUGE SHOWROOM supervisors in Ontario and was r"sdent of the RegistrarOf 8)~d Association of untar o in 19 1. Afer bis retirement on Oct: 31, 1970, he spent two years on spcai assignent from the Otario goverrnent, and set up a registry office for the new City of Thunider Bay when Port £%nu and Fort William amalgamnated as one community. He- was a rnember- of the Whitby Board of Education for six years as an appointee of the Ontario County Council, from 1943 to 1948. He ,was elected to the Whitby Town Council in 1940 and served as reeve in 1941-42 with a seat on Ontario County council. He was aiso a member of the Whitby Industrial Commission for a number of years and served as a chairman. Mr. Roblin was a charter member of the Whitby Rotary Club ini 1933 and president of the club i 1939-40. TI 1976 he was made a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest honor in Rotary. He was a member of Composite Lodge No. 30 AF and ;AM, Whiitby, serving as master of the lodge in 1942. TI 1948-49 ho was president of the Whitby ýChamber of Commerce. Mr. Roblin w as a member of St. Markes United Church, serving for more than 30 years on the board of stewards, and was chairman of the board for a number of years. Hie was a director for two years of the Milk Distributorsd Association of Ontario and was a charter member of the Whitby Curling Club in 1958. Before bis. appointment as Registrar of Deeds, he was president of the Ontario Riding Progressive Conservative Association. TIn'1923 Mr. Roblin marriedthe <(ý-, former Gladys Mabel Collins of Belleville, who survives him. He is also survived by one son, Stuart C. Roblin, Registrar of the Courts for Durham Region; two grandchildren, Andrew N. Roblin of Toronto and Mrs. James B. Harrison (Sarah L.) of Shakespeare and four great-grandchildren, Roblyn and Matthew Harrison and Rachel and Emily Roblin. One sister, Mrs. George Eastwood (ill]ian) of Whitby, <ied before him.' Mr. Roblin was at the W. C. Town Funeral Chapel, Whitby. Friends were received by the family at 616 Kfing St., the residence of his son Stuart, on Sept. 29, 1989. A private family funeral service was held, followed by cremation. Donations to the charity of one's choice may be made at the W. C.
