The first teain played 2,1/2 gaines in the past week. They began by hosting the Toronto Nomads in the consolation round of the Marshall trophy on Saturday, Oct. 14. Oshawa was, impressive, in wvhipping the usually powerful Nomada 27-3. Scoing for Oshawa were Greg O'Connor with two tries, and single tries from Dave Kimmerly, Jef Moakaluk, Greg Mcinney and two converts and one penalty by Mike Clayton. The victoxy moved Oshawa into the semi-finals of the consolation round against Brantford Saturday Oct. 21. Vikings were victorious 8-6 on two tries from Mike Clayton. That win enables Oshawa Wo play in the Marshall Trophy consolation final on Oct. 28 at Fletcher's Fields in Markhani. On Nov. 4, Oshawa will host the Windsor Borderers in the Intermediate Cup, in search of a promotion to the Ontario Senior LjeEgue for 1990. Oshawa will host Windsor at Lakeview Park on Simcoe St. S. at 3 p.m. Vikings second team s season camne W an end this past week after a split of gaines in the Toronto Rugby uni on playoffs. On Saturday, Oct. 14, Oshawa defeated the Nomads 22-18 on tries by Kevin Maynard, Rick BIais, Glenn Elliott and Andy Kit. I-an Thompson kçicked two converts and Gareth Pettigrew icked one. On Oct. 21 Oshawa was beaten 8-4 by the Balmy Beach IVs, a loss which ended their season, one game short of their goal, the Toronto Rugby Union final. The last try of the season for the second teain was scored by Jeif Gouclie.
