"This bas been a long time cming," said general manager Rick Maeder about the inove from Oshawa that had been in the planning tgsfraln tinie. gstgsfraln "Tedream started back in 1967," said owner Italo Cappuc- citti. "And now it's become a reality.» Part of bis dream was realized wben Cappuccitti first opened in 1972 on Simcoe St. S. in Oshawa. He later expanded by locating bis sales department to a pro- perty on King St. Continued growtb prompted the move to a new location, and Wbitby was ebosen for C&C to serve ail of Durbam Region. Cap- puccitti will keep a second ser- vice centre in Osbawa at 160 Simcoe St. S. C&C is the only Subaru dea- lersbip' in the region, and the new location bas already attrac- ted customers from the Toronto area. A six-car showroom, offices, body and repair sbop, eight ser- vice bays and a staff of il some of them longtime empioyees, occupy the 10,000-sq. ft. building wbile the lot can accommodate about 80 cars. Since opening for business in October, sales bave already exceeded expectations, and Mae- der predicts C&C wili be the top Subaru dealership within thre jrears. There are 10 Subaru dea- lership s in Toronto, 23 in Ontario and 79 in Canada. Another 10 locations wili have opened in Canada by the end of 1989, under a restructuring plan, says Bob Vilas, regional manager for Ontario. On hand for the opening cere- monies was Harumi Miyaoka, executive vice president of Sub- aru Canada Inc.
