Whitby Spruce Villa Cana- dians remain undefeated after their first four games in the senior basebali league. Hawks finish lst in division By Chris Bovie The Henry Hawks basebal squad dumped St. Marys 10-0 last week to carry the team into the playoffs. (Hawks started the playoffs Tuesda against Bowmanville with Jeremy 1arness on the mound . If the club wins its Tues- day games they will play ini the final today at Kfinsmen Park. Scores were not available at press time). The Hawks finished the regu- lar season with a 7-2 record and the niembers of the team from the Oshawa General players have fit ight in. Hawks went into the playoffis with more depth than any pre- vosHenry teai. Te1 its against St. Marv came from 13 Hawk players. I s thig bench strength that leaves coach lKen Saznanski's lineup card lookin like chicken scratc at the endof a gaine. Henry's pitching and defense was tightening up once again, perhaps the result of an embar- rassing loss. "It' probably. the best thing that could have happened to the teain. The were a few mwelled heads,» Samanski said. The best teain during the regu- lar seaon isn't guarenteed a championship title. And with a one-game elimination format, there is no margin for error.
