According to Judy Davis of 'Fun Fashions for Kids' in Whitby, . "Objîdren have becomne extremely fashion consejous. They know . what they want and wbat labels to look for." .. Z Brand names are definitely in. From . 'Beatrix Potter' and 'McKids' to 'Vuaret' and . . 'Alfred Sung,' children's clotbing bas become a sophisticated business. Says Davis, "Objîldren will corne into the store 4* with their parents and look for the <uaret' label. This is what their friends are wearing and they want to be accepted as being part of their peer group." An explosion of color is what one notices first upon entering any children's lotbing store today. Hot, electric colors in fucshia, electrie blue, chartreuse, - magenta, canary yellow and, of course, the fluorescent neons make up the color story. Adds Davis, "The ~ . ~.~ .. neons and brights are here to stay. They're fun, popular and practical because they make children highly visible." Co-ordinated outfits are also prevalent in kid's clothing. Matching pants and shirts, skirts brought together with niatching socks and bats, create a complete look that kids are looking for.1 What are parents looking for? Most parents agree that quality and value is what appeals to themn. "They -want their money's worth," adds Davis. Fabrics should be washable and colorfast.
