Comfmittee chairman Ross Bat- ton assured hier that Durham Region bas a compensation policy te cover wells that go dry due te development. De Ruyter added altering the water course will not affect wells. «It does not significantly con- tribute te the water supply,» said De Ruyter. James Priest of RR 2 Whitby asked about access onte Taunton Rd. from the subdivision. "I don't think there shoufd be any more development until Taunton Rd. is widened,» said Priest. Planning director Bob Short said the draft plan of subdivision does not indicate egress or in- gress (accesa roads) onto Taun- ton at this tume. «Obviouswly if there is te be access there has te, be traffic control,» said Short.
