Fiddlers, danoers ta ke the stage By Maureon Quinlan The Brooklin Fair has something for everyone, and If you 1k. fiddles or step dancing, you won't be disappointed. ..The dancing and f iddle contest will be held on June 2 inside the Luther Vipond Memorial arena, starting at 4 p.m. There wiII be dances for everyone at the contest, with categories for contestants age 12 and under, 18 and under, 60 ad under and over 60. "We've had. great success other years,"w says Doreen Squelch-, organizer of the cohtest, hoping to have even more peopIea cme out this year. Eight judges wiII evaluate timing, ton. and rhythm. The identities of the judges remain a mystery until the contest begins. "I neyer tell who they are until everyone gets there," sà ys Squelch. But Squelch assures that the judges are weII worth the wait. In fact, they put on quit. a show once the contest is over," says Squelch. After the winners have been announced, ail the judges strut their stuff just to prove they know what they're doing.
