Two transformera on-the ferry are filled with pure POBs. A third transformer contains minerai. ou with- low-level PCB contamination, slightly above the acceptable standard of 50 parts per million. In addition, there are two 40- gallon drums on the boat which contain PCB-contaminated bu e water taken from the vessel's bull. Neither Hydro general mana- ger Tom MaLy nor commission chairman Bill Lawler were avail- able for comment. Durham Centre MPP Drum- mond White, who announced cabinet's decision, had no know- ledge of why an agreement bas not ben signed. «I personally haven't heard, the only thing. we can do at this point is wait, -said White. Although admitting he is not close to the discussions, White could not understand the delay. «I think we -as a governmnent have taken every step we could,» said White. The Town of Whitby and Hydro are to be «commen d" for their willingness to participate, said White. «I certainly hope Mr. Robinson and bis' lawyer are willing to follow through with the - agree- ment," he added.
