New girls were aided by prefects toi relieve some 'of their anxieties in a new scbool. - The camping weekend was the first.event when aIl boarders, and some day girls,, went to Dorset wbere they mingled with each other in a relaxed envirornent. It was a time cf bappiness and fun where everyone united in a family bond. There was a lot of participation in a variety of activities -- hiking, co-p games, animal studies, canoeing and swimming. 'At night, there was a closing campfire wbere everyone sang and skits were perf'ormed fromn each grade. Commencement was the second main event, where graduates from 1991 received their diplomas, and awards were given to students whe excelled academically. It was a time when the hearts of students were filled with pridé because they achieved their goals and were warmly congratulated by their peers. Catherine Inglis, the valedic- terian, gave a, very- inspirational speech,,where- she reflected on experiences between teachers and students during ber year at Trafalgar. Later that ' week, the school ventured on.a trip te Stratford Theatre where the juniors saw « Our Town' and seniors saw 'Hamiet.'. They were both exceptional plays that held our attention. Students from other schools were also present and it gave us a chance to meet them. This week, the basketball and soccer teams played exceptionally well and illustrated great team spirit. The basketball team defeated Country Day, and soccer team defeated Saint Clemins. Th wind up the week, trycuts- are being held for bouse plays that are gong to be presented later in the year.
