Anybody can enter and partic*pate ini the contest, says Doreen Squelch, committee 'chair for the competition. The fiddle program has four classes for people te show their talents: age 12 and under, age 13 te, 18p and Up. The stepdancing competition features five categories, giving people a chance to strut their stuif:. age 12 and under, aged 13 te 18, an open class, an intermediate class, and aged 50 and over. Top three finishers in each category will be awarded cash prizes and the winner in each class will win a trophy. "Vie had a real good crowd and it went over quite well last year," says Squelch. She hopes even more people wiIl show up for the event because 'the more, the merier' and it helps te create a more festive atmosphere. A country and western band, 'The Tradesmen,' will also be performing three times during the evening. Squelch says everybody. is welcome to corne and listen te, the varlous performers or better yet, join in the fun. When there is a lot of competition, it makes for a more interesting and fun evening, she says. The fiddle and stepdancing competition will be held Sunday, June 7, starting at 4 p.m., in the arena.
