The African Children's Choir was first broughit ta North America in 1984 by Friends in the West, a non-profit cor- poration in the U.S.A., Canada and, Great Britain 'that'operates in co-operation with many deno- minutions in Africa. The choir will perform ut Wbithy Christian Assembly, 100 Rossland Rd. W., on Junie 14, 10:30 a.m. Before 1984, the choir worked among Uganda's persecuted Christians on hu--an rigts issues during Idi Amin's reign of terror in the seventies. Choir members are selected from especiafly needy children in East Africa. The choir performs a wide variety of songs -- African tunes and dance are accompanied hy drumis and ethnie instrumen- tation..
