Photo by Mark Reesor, Free Press The Whitby Figure Skàting Club's precision teanis will host their l2th invitational precision skating competition Feb. 6. Forty-seven tenis are entered in the event. Flights will begin at 7:45 a.m. The silver final events will take place after the resuits of al flights have been determined, at approximately 1:30 p.m. The gold final events will begin around 5 p.m. and continue until 8:30 p.m., when the gold modale will be presented. Ail events- are scheduled at Iroquois Park, rink one. WVhitbye four teame will pàrticipate and, aftor Whitby's fine show at Lake Placid, they are expocted to put on a great show. Tickets will be available at the door. Admission will be discounted for seniors and children aged 12 and under, while children aged 5 and under will be admitted free of charge. à ee I Novices overwrhelmed in final league gameI The Whitby minor novice AAA hockey team's regular season finished with a crushing 9-1 less at the banda of first-place Markham Thunder. Whitby, sponsored by BWMH Ladies Auxiliary, neyer got on track after falling behind 3-0 in the first period. Scoring the one goal for Whitby was KeVin Walsh on a nice setup from Ryan Tutak and Wade Branch. Whitby ended up in fourth place for the regular season. The Whitby , Goldwing Systems Resources Inc., major novice AA team had two victories and one less recently in exhibition hockey play. Whitby defeated Bowman- ville 3-2 and Markhani 6-4 thon lest to Ajax 6-0. Against Bowmanville, Whitby got goals from Matt Hircock, Scott Wilson and Lucas Naylor with assiste coming from Michael James Atkins, Ben Stanton, Ryan McMichael, Nick Verkuyl, Justin Mies and Wilson. In the Markham ganie, WVhitby got two goals each from Stanton and Chris Simipson with singles going to Hircock and Giles. Assists in the game went to Naylor, Justin Potter, Scott Beethain and Jeit Pichut.
